Chapel Gallery Winter Exhibition: Lace Through the Years
About
A free winter exhibition of lace pieces old and new, from the UK and abroad, in the museum's Chapel Gallery.
The museum's winter exhibition in its Chapel Gallery displays a variety of lace ranging from modern-day pieces to examples over a hundred years old. It combines UK pieces with lace from many countries showing distinct variation, each with its own history and stories. Some pieces were hand-made or hand assembled by Wymeswold Threads members, with help from the Lace Guild in identifying styles and donated machine-made lace from the Cluny Lace Company. As the gallery is a shared space, visitors are advised to check availability before visiting.
