Letterpress Festive Greeting Cards

A festive letterpress workshop at York Castle Museum where participants print their own Christmas cards inspired by Victorian cards in the museum's collection.

This relaxed, festive workshop invites participants to print their own Christmas cards using letterpress, drawing inspiration from Victorian cards in York Castle Museum's collection. Attendees learn about the history of Christmas cards and create six bespoke cards, experimenting with colour and decorative elements. Materials and tools are provided and no experience is necessary; everyone leaves with a set of six cards with matching envelopes. The session is suitable for ages 16+, with under-18s accompanied by an adult, and a second workshop runs on Saturday 5 December.
