About

Learn paper-folding techniques to make a 360-degree cockade fan and a traditional folding fan.

Paper artist Kate Colin leads a 10:00–14:00 workshop combining traditional fan-making skills and contemporary paper folding. It begins with a short presentation on the history and use of fans in period costume for film, television and theatre. Paper, fan sticks and equipment are included; participants who want to use their own patterned paper can bring two unfolded A3 sheets of about 100gsm or a one-metre roll of non-glossy wrapping paper. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
