Nordic Elegance: Hand-Painted Paper Fan Ornaments
About
A day workshop at The Arc learning to ink-paint and fold paper into minimalist Scandinavian-style fan ornaments for the home.
This one-day workshop teaches participants to create hand-painted, folded paper fan decorations in a minimalist Scandinavian style. In the morning, flat sheets of paper are painted with coloured inks in soft 'ink-and-wash' winter landscapes, swirls or geometric patterns; once dry, the paper is accordion-folded into hanging fan clusters suitable for windows, mantels or a Christmas tree. Aimed at beginner to intermediate crafters, all materials are supplied and attendees are asked to bring an old shirt or apron. The session runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm and is led by artist Nicky Bell, who works in Sumi ink and watercolour.
