PCU Performing The Sacred Veil by Whitacre and Faure Requiem

Portsmouth Choral Union performs Whitacre's The Sacred Veil and Fauré's Requiem in an evening of choral music at Portsmouth Cathedral.

Portsmouth Choral Union presents a concert pairing Eric Whitacre's The Sacred Veil, a 12-movement work with text by Charles Anthony Silvestri, with Gabriel Fauré's Requiem in D minor (Op. 48). The programme explores themes of love, loss and eternal rest, with solo movements including the Pie Jesu, Hostias and Libera me. The performance runs about two and a half hours, with doors opening at 7 PM, and features cellist Lionel Handy, violinist Brian Lloyd-Wilson and pianist Sue Graham Smith alongside the choir.
