CPD: Teaching Macbeth at KS4: In Person or Online
About
A hybrid CPD session for secondary teachers offering creative, active classroom approaches to teaching Macbeth at Key Stage 4, in person or online.
This Continuing Professional Development session offers secondary teachers practical techniques for teaching Shakespeare's Macbeth at Key Stage 4 through active and creative approaches. In-person attendees take a 30-minute tour of the Globe Theatre followed by a practical workshop in a rehearsal studio (2 hours 30 minutes from 4.00pm, capacity 32), while online attendees join via Zoom for a 15-minute introduction followed by a 2.5-hour workshop streamed live from the studio (2 hours running time from 4.30pm, capacity 50). Activities are designed to deepen students' understanding of the play's characters, context, themes and imagery, and develop critical thinking. Participants interact with the Globe practitioner live; no recording or photography is permitted.
