About

Najma and Zakariya meet in a clinic waiting room and gradually begin to share jokes, drawings and poems. This British-Somali play follows two teenagers as they navigate illness, identity and a new connection.

Set around a clinic waiting room, Crush follows Najma, who has been in treatment for years, and Zakariya, who is just beginning. She sketches and he writes poetry; their conversations grow as they attend their sessions. The play explores teenage identity, connection and recovery.
