Swinging at the Cotton Club – feat. The Lindy Hop Dance Company
About
A 1920s Cotton Club celebration of swing dance and jazz music performed by the Lindy Hop Dance Company and The Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm and Singers.
This show recreates the dance and music of Harlem's iconic 1920s Cotton Club, with the Lindy Hop Dance Company performing routines inspired by dancers such as Bojangles Robinson and the Nicholas Brothers, accompanied by The Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm and Singers. The programme draws on the music associated with the club's era, including numbers linked to Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Fats Waller. The performance runs approximately 2 hours 20 minutes including an interval and is suitable for all ages, with under-16s accompanied by an adult.
