Colin Currie Quartet: Steve Reich Celebration

The Colin Currie Quartet performs a Steve Reich-centred percussion programme as part of RNCM Day of Percussion.

Formed in 2018, the Colin Currie Quartet — Colin Currie, Owen Gunnell, Adrian Spillett and Sam Walton — presents adventurous chamber percussion works centring on Steve Reich and composers inspired by him. The programme includes Reich's Clapping Music, Nagoya Marimbas, Mallet Quartet and Drumming (Part 1), alongside Aileen Sweeney's Starburst and Julia Wolfe's Dark Full Ride. The concert includes an interval and ends at approximately 8pm, and forms part of RNCM Day of Percussion, whose tickets also cover the day's workshops and events.
