About

Psychologist George Erdos gives a one-hour talk exploring how psychology explains the creation and appreciation of art.

In this hour-long talk, psychologist George Erdos examines art through the lens of psychology, arguing that aesthetics is best understood as a human science rather than a branch of philosophy. Drawing on his research and teaching, he explores the creative process, the artwork itself, the aesthetic experience and the nature of the audience. Using paintings as examples, he poses open questions about how our senses, cognition and emotions shape our experience of art.
