About
Dr Tom Booth lectures on a decade of archaeogenetic research into prehistoric Britain, from 15,000 to 2,000 years ago.
The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland hosts this public lecture marking ten years since the first prehistoric human genomic data from Britain were published. Dr Tom Booth will use case studies from prehistoric Britain to discuss the expanding capabilities of archaeogenetics, weighing its strengths and weaknesses and showing how it is yielding new insights into people who lived between 15,000 and 2,000 years ago. The event runs for two hours at Augustine United Church as part of the 2026-27 Public Events Programme.
