Darkland Tales: Crafting Scottish Fiction from Historical Fact
About
A panel discussion with writers from Polygon's Darkland Tales series on reimagining Scottish history, myth and legend in fiction.
To mark the National Year of Reading, the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland hosts a panel discussion with authors from Polygon's Darkland Tales series, which reimagines stories from Scotland's history, myth and legend. The speakers discuss how they interrogate historical and archaeological sources to resurrect the past, and the ethical complexities of doing so. The panel features novelists Val McDermid and Graeme Macrae Burnet, Geographer Royal for Scotland Jo Sharp, and writer and broadcaster Jamie Crawford. The event lasts two hours and takes place in person at Augustine United Church.
