About
A day-long training session at Wembury Marine Centre qualifying Devon residents to join Devon Wildlife Trust's Marine Strandings Volunteer Network.
Devon Wildlife Trust runs a day-long training session at Wembury Marine Centre for Devon residents who want to join its Marine Strandings Volunteer Network. The morning covers how the network works, cetacean identification, health and safety, and completing recording forms. In the afternoon participants go to the beach for a simulated stranding using life-sized models of a dolphin, porpoise and seal to practise recording, safety and retrieval procedures. Attendees must be aged 16 or over and bring their own lunch and outdoor clothing.
