Máhccan – Homecoming: Screening and Director’s Talk

Finnish filmmaker Suvi West follows the return of Sámi museum objects and reflects on how museums confront their colonial past. The screening is paired with a post-film conversation; the current page conflicts on the second speaker.

The 2023 film follows the return of Sámi objects from museum collections and raises questions about colonial collecting and repatriation. The Somerset House page identifies Suvi West and gives conflicting names for the other post-screening speaker, so the bill needs confirmation.
