Surreal Solihull
About
A free exhibition at MAC honouring surrealist Emmy Bridgwater, with new 'Surreal'-themed works by 29 West Midlands artists, curated by Ruth Millington.
This exhibition honours the legacy of Emmy Bridgwater, who lived in Solihull in her final years and whose bold, uncanny visions shaped British surrealism. In her spirit, 29 West Midlands-based artists have created new work on the theme of 'Surreal', ranging from collaged bird lands to painted dreamscapes and a magic mirror sculpture. Curated by art historian and author Ruth Millington, the show was originally commissioned by Solihull Council as large-scale display boards around the borough, and the physical artworks now find a home at MAC.
