Variety Night - Halloween Special
About
A Halloween-themed variety night of live music, drag, poetry and DJ sets at the Rising Sun Arts Centre, with a fancy-dress prize, for ages 18+.
The Rising Sun Arts Centre hosts a spooky Halloween edition of its Variety Night, running from 7:30pm to 11pm in the Main Hall. Big Jay, aka Slaytan the Drag Devil, hosts an evening featuring contemporary didgeridoo act Primal Resonance, drag activist and poet Philli Mi Up, Reading indie post-punk duo Polly b Rose, and DJ/producer DeepSonics blending jazz, afrobeat, trip hop, house and jungle with live saxophone. Attendees are encouraged to dress up, with a prize for the best costume; the event is 18+ only and ticket sales are split between the volunteer-run charity and the artists.
