The Elves and the Shoemaker

Red Rose Chain's family Christmas show brings a magical take on The Elves and the Shoemaker to the Avenue Theatre from 1 December to 3 January.

Written by Joanna Carrick, this Christmas show is set in Elvedon, where Lovelace's Boots & Shoes has had no customers for months and Elvira needs a miracle to keep the shop open — one provided by two very magical visitors. Red Rose Chain describes its Christmas shows as imaginative takes on classic stories with multi-rolling casts, filled with songs, dance and comedy and free of adult jokes or innuendo, making them suitable for all ages. The production runs at the 120-seat Avenue Theatre from 1 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, with school performances from 1 to 17 December.
