Field Works: A Theremin Performance by Emma Korantema

Emma Korantema performs on theremin, voice, movement and live sound, exploring how melodies, conversations and meanings transform through bodies, memories and spaces.

This 30-minute performance is the culmination of a year-long research project into gesture-based sound, movement and embodied technology. Korantema uses the theremin alongside voice, movement and live sound to explore how music and meaning change through distance, gesture, proximity, breath and the people gathered in a room. The work is part of WONDER: Why We Believe in Magic.
