About
Baroque ensemble Musical & Amicable Society performs Restoration-era violin music by Purcell, Jenkins, Matteis and others at St Mary’s Church, Warwick.
The Musical & Amicable Society presents 'Fiddlers Three: Music from Charles II’s Private Musick', a programme exploring music-making in late-seventeenth-century England and virtuosic violin writing from the Restoration court. Well-known works by Purcell, Jenkins and Matteis sit alongside newer discoveries by Mell, Matteis and Isaack. A free 'Behind the Music' pre-concert talk takes place at 6.45pm, with a 20-minute interval and an estimated 9.30pm finish.
