Life Drawing Skills Class

A monthly life drawing class at The Box, Plymouth, teaching techniques from basic shapes to long-form poses, led by artist Ralph Nel.

This series of life drawing sessions at The Box, Plymouth, runs on selected Friday afternoons from August to December 2026, each 2pm–4pm and suitable for ages 18+. Sessions build progressively: starting with breaking down the figure into basic shapes and negative space, then units of measurement, followed by combining techniques into a step-by-step process, and finally two refinement sessions culminating in a single long-form pose. Participants can book individual sessions or attend the whole series. The classes are led by Plymouth-based artist and drawing teacher Ralph Nel, who specialises in historical drawing methods.
