Dorking Concertgoers: Sacconi String Quartet 1

The Sacconi String Quartet opens a three-concert series with Haydn, Doreen Carwithen and Beethoven's late Quartet in C sharp minor.

The Sacconi String Quartet, marking 25 years together with its original four members, returns to Dorking Halls for a series of three concerts, each closing with one of Beethoven's late quartets. This first concert pairs the seven-movement Quartet in C sharp minor, Op.131 with Haydn's early Quartet in E flat, Op.20 No.1 and Doreen Carwithen's Quartet No.1. The programme highlights a composer whose music is only now being heard again.
