Art and Play

Artist Jo Pearl leads an evening workshop on soil life, combining clay modelling of microorganisms with a screening of her animation Dirty Secret.

Artist Jo Pearl leads a hands-on clay-modelling session at Hastings Contemporary, introducing her creative process and the hidden organisms that live in soil. Participants sculpt their own soil microorganisms from clay while discussing the ecological themes of her work. The session also includes a screening of her stop-frame clay animation Dirty Secret, about soil health and regenerative agriculture. No experience is needed and all materials are provided.
