Family Day: Inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry
About
A drop-in family day of Bayeux Tapestry-inspired art activities across the gallery, led by artists Chantelle Brett and Claire Griffiths.
This October half-term family day invites children and adults to explore, create and play throughout the gallery, with activities in every space and an artist-led workshop in the studio. Taking inspiration from the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition at the British Museum, the activities transport participants back 900 years to the events leading up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Visitors can make block prints on fabric, contribute to a collaborative woven artwork, draw a comic strip of a personal triumph, and collage strange beasts inspired by the Tapestry's borders. No booking is needed — just drop in between 11am and 4pm.
