Have we been here before? Lessons from history
About
A Festival of Economics panel discussion drawing lessons from a century of UK economic history, part of the Economic History Society's centenary celebrations.
This hour-long session, part of the Economic History Society's centenary year celebration, asks what has improved or worsened in the UK economy since 1926 and how those changes have affected British citizens' lives. Speakers examine which policies have advanced or held back the UK economy over the past 100 years, drawing lessons from the past to inform how to seize today's opportunities and address its challenges. The panel is chaired by Anu Anand (Bath Spa University) and features Judy Stephenson (Economic History Society), Amy Edwards (University of Bristol) and Michael Aldous (Queen's University Belfast).
