The Dialectics of Social Intelligence: Evald Ilyenkov, Artificial Intelligence and the struggle for human agency
About
A free one-day symposium exploring Soviet philosopher Evald Ilyenkov's ideas on intelligence, AI and human agency.
Organised by the International Friends of Ilyenkov, this symposium examines the work of Soviet philosopher E.V. Ilyenkov (1924-1979) and its relevance to contemporary philosophical, educational, technological and social questions. Ilyenkov's thought sits at an intersection of philosophy of mind, Marxism, education, AI, epistemology and theories of human activity. The day offers an opportunity to explore the role of human intelligence in an age of social and political transition, running from 9:30am to 6pm with a live-stream option available.
