Introduction to Quilting (18+)
About
A four-week beginner quilting course for adults taught by resident quilter Jodie Glenn-Martin, covering hand and machine quilting basics.
This beginner-friendly course runs over four Friday sessions, each two hours long, teaching the basic techniques and terminology of hand and machine quilting. Participants make sample blocks from the first lesson and are encouraged to bring their own fabrics or old clothing to upcycle into a personal memory quilt, with basic materials, tools and Liberty print swatches provided. By the end, attendees are guided towards their own project goal, such as a cushion, bag or quilt, and equipped to continue at their own pace. No previous experience is necessary and the course is open to anyone aged 18 or over.
