Her Tempest Tongue: A Black Feminist Writing Workshop

A writing workshop for Black women exploring Black feminist fiction through reading, discussion and creative writing towards a collective anthology.

This workshop explores the words and worlds of Black feminist writers such as Gloria Naylor, Toni Morrison and Octavia Butler, with space to reflect on experiences as Black women of the diaspora. Through reading, discussion and creative prompts, participants examine identity, memory and speculative futures, and how fiction can help make sense of the present polycrisis. After discussion, attendees write poetry and prose for a collective anthology; no writing experience or professional background is needed.
