Digging & Hungering: Creative Approaches to Moving Through Archives
About
A creative writing workshop using Saidiya Hartman's 'critical fabulation' to imagine a queer archive through writing and shared reading.
This creative writing workshop, the second in the Digging & hungering series, explores Saidiya Hartman's concept of 'critical fabulation' — blending archival research and storytelling to address silences in the archives of marginalised groups. Participants will read short texts together, respond to prompts by writing into the margins of queer texts, and collectively compose objects and memory fragments for an imagined queer archive. The session includes space to share reflections and short readings with the group.
