About

A Royston Pike lecture evening pairing Lara Maiklem on Thames mudlarking with Dr Lewis Campbell on the ecology of Surrey's rivers Mole and Wey.

This Royston Pike Lecture evening features two talks with no interval. Lara Maiklem, a licensed mudlark of over 20 years, recounts 2,000 years of London history through objects found on the Thames shore, drawing on her Sunday Times bestseller Mudlarking. Dr Lewis Campbell, a freshwater ecologist at South East Rivers Trust, then explores the ecosystems of Surrey's Mole and Wey rivers, from fish and invertebrates to water voles and kingfishers, and the conservation work protecting them.
