Recreating the 1986 “Quartet Amongst the Puddles” with Quartet Concrète

A relaxed Sunday afternoon concert by Quartet Concrète celebrating 40 years of Riverhouse Barn, with Beethoven, special guests, tea and cake.

Riverhouse Barn marks its 40th anniversary by recreating the 1986 concert held on the bare concrete floor of the then-unfinished barn, built by local volunteers. Quartet Concrète, a string quartet formed at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, performs Beethoven's String Quartet No. 9 in C major, Op. 59 No. 3, with special guests expected. The hour-long afternoon event includes tea and a cake made for the occasion, and all funds raised go to the Barn.
