The Threshold of Presence
About
An exhibition of new sculptural work by C L Davies exploring belonging, emotional displacement and the tension between presence and absence.
The Threshold of Presence presents new sculpture by C L Davies exploring belonging, emotional displacement and the gap between being physically present and feeling unseen. Davies combines plaster, broken concrete, slumped glass and dense textiles, juxtaposing bodily forms with architectural fragments to trace the shifting boundaries between presence and absence. The fractured surfaces and softened contours hold traces of rupture and fragility, inviting quieter reflection on the desire to be recognised and to find belonging. Davies is a Bedfordshire-based multidisciplinary artist and Digswell Arts Trust Fellow.
