Climate Resilient Cities – Blue Green Newcastle
About
A free workshop on water-related climate risks and flood-resilient city design, led by Environment Agency and Newcastle City Council experts.
This Creative Climate Club session explores water-related climate risks and creative climate adaptation, with experts from the Environment Agency and Newcastle City Council. Participants will look at flooding around the NewcastleGateshead Quayside, from 'Thunder Thursday' in 2012 onwards, and hear about the Blue Green Newcastle project and how cities worldwide use 'blue-green infrastructure' to become more flood-resilient. A 3D model, the SUDs house, will show ways people can help at home and in their communities, through talks, demonstrations, discussions and myth-busting. The session is led by Community Flood Resilience Advisor Alex Scaife and Technical Specialist Carl Hodgson, alongside colleagues.
