Pick a Pumpkin Express at Avon Valley Railway

A family Halloween heritage train ride from Bitton Station with pumpkin picking at Avon Riverside and pumpkin painting at Bitton.

The Pick-a-Pumpkin Express is a new-for-2026 Halloween event on the Avon Valley Railway, hauled by one of the railway's heritage locomotives. Families ride from Bitton Station along the line to Avon Riverside Station, where passengers can alight and choose a pumpkin to take home. Back at Bitton there is pumpkin painting and decorating under the canopy, and spooky characters appear onboard the train, with treats rather than tricks. The event is aimed at all the family, including younger children.
