The tour covers the house's history from around 1700, its acquisition by Winchester City Council in the 1890s, and its principal rooms and contents from the City Council collection. It finishes with Christmas refreshments, a chance to meet the Mayor, view the mayoral regalia and ask questions. Minimum age 12; the tour is unsuitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.
