AI, Art and Morality
About
Philosopher Dr Milena Ivanova gives a free public talk on the moral tensions raised by AI-generated art, followed by a Q&A.
Dr Milena Ivanova, a philosopher of science at the University of Cambridge, explores the moral and political status of artworks and what tensions arise when art is made with generative AI, including algorithmic bias and the extraction of artistic labour. She asks whether these moral concerns undermine the artistic value of AI-generated works and whether conditions exist under which they could be overcome. The talk is followed by a Q&A with Alberto Garcia, Librarian at the Rosemary Murray Library, and the audience. The event runs 5:30–6:30pm and booking is required.
