About
A display of 11th-century Lincoln-minted coins in the Magna Carta Vault, exploring the Norman Conquest and links to the Bayeux Tapestry.
Coins of the Conquest showcases a collection of coins minted in Lincoln during the reigns of Edward the Confessor, Harold II and William the Conqueror. The display explores how these coins reflect a period of dramatic change in English history and their connections to the Bayeux Tapestry, as part of the nationwide Bayeux Around Britain programme. It can be seen alongside Lincoln Castle's 1215 Magna Carta and runs until March 2027.
