Guided Tour of Weoley Castle
About
Explore the medieval manor-house ruins with a guide and examine archaeological finds in the visitor centre.
A guided visit explores the architecture, construction and layout of Weoley Castle, once a hunting lodge of the Lords of Dudley. Archaeological objects in the visitor centre help explain life at the site during the Middle Ages. The one-hour outdoor tour crosses uneven ground; suitable footwear and clothing are advised. Tours can be adapted for wheelchair users, and adults and families are welcome. Pre-booking is required. The viewing platform is free to visit during daylight hours throughout the year; direct access to the ruins and visitor centre is limited to event days. The visitor centre has accessible toilets. There is no car park; parking is on the road. Guide and assistance dogs are welcome on event days. For access enquiries contact hello@birminghammuseums.org.uk or 0121 348 8000.
