About

A hands-on workshop where artist Dee teaches participants to make custom strap harnesses from repurposed second-hand bags and belts.

Run by Dee, a queer gender-fluid artist and former costume prop maker, this workshop repurposes second-hand bags and belts into custom strap harnesses. Participants learn cutting, rivet pressing and construction techniques, starting with a demonstration and a basic pattern to follow or adapt. Materials can be chosen from the facilitator's collection or brought from home, and the session runs 2pm to 6.30pm at the wheelchair-accessible QueerSwap Studio. The event is 18+ and proceeds go to the facilitators.
