About
Avant/jazz-rock pioneers Soft Machine bring their blend of jazz fusion, psychedelia and improvised rock to The Sub Rooms.
Soft Machine, one of the UK's most influential avant/jazz-rock bands, perform live at The Sub Rooms. Formed in the late 1960s alongside contemporaries like Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the band has evolved through psychedelic rock and European fusion while retaining a spirit of musical adventure. Their set spans progressive jazz fusion, atmospheric psychedelia, free improvised jazz-rock and ambient loop music, drawing on material including their latest album 'Thirteen', released in March 2026.
