Clown in Improv! w/ TBC Improv UK

A half-day improv workshop at Summerhall exploring clowning techniques to boost presence, playfulness and comedy on stage.

TBC Improv UK runs a playful, practical workshop introducing improvisers to clown and how clowning techniques can transform their improv. The day covers being present, vulnerable and responsive on stage, embracing failure, connecting with the audience and using genuine reactions for surprising comedy. It runs 10:30am to 4pm with a morning session of warm-ups and clown basics, a lunch break, and an afternoon applying clown to improv. Participants need Introduction to Improv (101) or equivalent, but no prior clown experience; the teacher is Edinburgh actor, clown and improviser Caroline Mathison.
