A two-part guided experience combining a coffee-history tour of The Lost Close with a tour of The Real Mary King's Close beneath the Royal Mile.

Closes & Coffee is a two-part immersive experience run by The Real Mary King's Close and The Lost Close. It begins at John's Coffee House & Tavern with a 35-minute guided tour of The Lost Close, an underground space rediscovered in 2019, exploring coffee's arrival in Edinburgh and its role in Enlightenment-era ideas, with a freshly brewed cup from local roaster Common Coffee. The experience continues with a one-hour guided tour of The Real Mary King's Close, exploring the preserved streets beneath the Royal Mile and the stories of the city's past residents. Tours run in small groups of up to 12 guests, are conducted in English, are not suitable for children under 5, and advance booking is essential.
