Olena Baranova – Feelings of the Second Sort
About
A free exhibition of delicate paper sculptures by Ukrainian artist Olena Baranova exploring quiet, overlooked emotional states, on display in the D Mill Reception Foyer.
Feelings of the Second Sort is an exhibition of minimal, contemplative paper sculptures by Ukrainian artist Olena Baranova, using paper as both material and metaphor to reflect the traces left by emotions. The title derives from a layered Ukrainian term with no direct English equivalent, referring both to feelings of being overlooked and to everyday disposable materials. As Baranova has returned to Ukraine, she has entrusted the fragile sculptures to Dean Clough, where they remain on display. Viewing is ongoing during opening hours: weekdays 09:00–17:00 and weekends 10:00–16:00.
