Durham Choral Society presents 'Messiah'

Durham Choral Society performs Handel's Messiah, the 1741 sacred oratorio telling the story of the prophecy and birth of Christ, his passion and resurrection, ending with a reflection on eternal life. The concert includes well-known movements such as "Comfort Ye My People", "For Unto Us a Child is Born" and the "Hallelujah" Chorus. The society is joined by its orchestra, members of the Durham Johnston Comprehensive School choir and guest soloists, and the performance is dedicated to the memory of Ann Crawford. The concert runs approximately 2 hours 15 minutes with doors opening at 18:45.
