Build a Remote-Controlled Robotic Hand, 11-15 Yrs

A hands-on robotics workshop for 11-15 year olds at Redbridge Central Library, building a motorised robotic hand controlled remotely via a sensor-covered glove.

Participants aged 11-15 explore industrial robotics by building a motorised mechanical hand that can be remotely controlled with their own hand using a sensor-covered glove. The session covers building the robotic hand, adding sensors to a glove, and writing code to send sensor readings wirelessly and move the fingers with motors. The workshop is based around the BBC Micro:bit and uses block-based coding, making it accessible to both beginners and more experienced programmers.
