Colin Thubron appears at Topping & Company Booksellers in Bath to discuss Passage, his ninth novel, a story of a love triangle set in Egypt's Valley of the Kings. The novel follows Kathleen, an actor undergoing brain surgery, her husband Robert, his brother Alan, and their Egyptian guide Ashraf, whose perspectives interweave as tensions build to betrayal. Thubron is a prize-winning travel writer and novelist whose works include Among the Russians and Shadow of the Silk Road.
