Shunt Fest with Winter Ales Festival

A two-day heritage diesel gala at Havenstreet celebrating vintage shunters, with passenger trains, cab access, workshop tours and a winter ales festival.

Shunt Fest is a weekend dedicated to Britain's railway shunters, with the Isle of Wight Steam Railway's resident diesel shunters running passenger journeys all day, including the first double-heading of Class 03s on the island. Visitors can enjoy cab access in the yard, behind-the-scenes workshop tours, brake van rides and a pop-up model railway shop, with special guest locomotive 03 158 visiting from Mangaps Railway. Alongside the rail action, the Whistle Stop Café hosts the Winter Ales Festival with a curated selection of seasonal brews.
