About
Sudanese singer and oud player Sulaf launches her debut album ABA at Oran Mor as part of Celtic Connections 2027.
Sulaf performs music from her debut album ABA, blending Sudanese tradition with expressive vocals, oud, atmospheric electronics and expansive arrangements. Drawing on Sufi poetry by her great-grandfather, whose name inspires the album, her songs explore loss, longing, identity and resilience, written during her exile in Paris after war broke out in Sudan. This Celtic Connections show marks the live launch of the record.
