About
Teinosuke Kinugasa’s silent psychological horror is screened with an original electronic score performed live by LA Griffin.
A janitor works at a psychiatric hospital to remain close to his wife, whose confinement becomes part of a fractured world of memory, fantasy and fear. Kinugasa’s 1926 film uses rapid editing and restless images to unsettle the boundary between those states.
Signals presents this screening with an original live electronic score. The performer is billed as LA Griffin; the programme text names him as North East DJ and producer Lewis Griffin.
