Old Spot (UK)

Old-time stringband duo Old Spot (Rowan Piggott & Joe Danks) perform live at The Acorn, sharing material from their new album Old Spot (II).

Old Spot, the duo of Rowan Piggott (5-string fiddle, viola) and Joe Danks (5-string and gourd banjo), perform a live show rooted in old-time stringband tradition. Since their acclaimed 2023 debut album and UK tour, they have developed a set blending close harmonies, driving tunes and experimental reworkings of classics. The tour follows their new album Old Spot (II), recorded in the Scottish Borders, which features fresh material and atmospheric arrangements.
