Rigoletto

Opera North returns to Leeds Grand Theatre with Femi Elufowoju Jr's contemporary reimagining of Verdi's tragic opera Rigoletto, sung in Italian with English subtitles.

Opera North's award-winning production of Verdi's Rigoletto, first performed to critical acclaim in 2022, returns to Leeds Grand Theatre. Directed by Femi Elufowoju Jr, it reimagines the story of a jester leading a double life in a corrupt court, whose protective love for his daughter and quest for revenge end in catastrophe. The score features some of opera's most famous music, including 'La donna è mobile', performed live by the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North. The opera is performed in Italian with English subtitles.
